Can I pay customs duties when my package arrives in the United States instead of paying them in advance?
To provide customers with the most reliable and smooth delivery experience, all packages shipped from Buyee to the United States are now sent under DDP (Delivered Duty Paid / duties prepaid). Under this system, Buyee handles all customs duties in advance on behalf of the customer, so customers do not need to worry about paying customs duties when the package arrives in the United States.
We currently do not offer DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid / duties paid later) as a shipping option, where customs duties are paid upon arrival.
Due to this change, prepaid customs duties and clearance fees—calculated based on item categories, invoice values, and other criteria—will be applied at checkout across all U.S.-bound shipping methods.
The currently applied tax rates are calculated with reference to the actual rates for each product category, while also taking into account various additional costs that may arise. By handling these fees in advance, customs clearance can be processed more smoothly and reliably for all packages.
We believe this change will lead to a smoother and more stress-free shopping experience for customers. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we adapt to the new customs regulations.
